New gold medal for MCJ students at DU

A new award titled "Rashida Muhiuddin Gold Medal" has been introduced at the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) of Dhaka University.

Rezaul Karim, brother of late Rashida Muhiuddin, handed over a cheque for Tk 8 lakh to Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique yesterday at the latter's office in this regard.

Out of the income from this donation, every year the student who will secure the highest CGPA in the BSS honours examination will be awarded the gold medal.

Rashida Muhiuddin was a first batch BA honours student at the department and a renowned media personality. She passed away on May 1, 2008.
