Road crashes kill three
Three people, including two cops, were killed and four others injured in road crashes in three districts yesterday.
In Dinajpur, a policeman of Bochaganj Police Station was killed and four others of the station were injured when a police van hit a roadside tree as the driver lost control over the vehicle on Bochaanj-Dinajpur road in Chilapara village of Bochaganj upazila.
The deceased was Abdul Latif, 33, a constable, hailed from Gaibandha.
The injured were ASI Rezaur Rahman, 30, constables Abdul Gaffar, 35, and Belal Hossain, 35, and van driver Md Sohel, 33.
In Gaibandha, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Gobindaganj Police Station Obaidur Rahman, 41, was killed when a bus ran him over at Hawyakhana on Bogra-Rangpur highway in Gobindaganj upazila.
Officer-in-Charge of Mozammel Huq said Obaidur of Dinajpur was patrolling the area with a police team on a police van. About 3:00am he got down from the van and went near the Katakhali Bridge to respond to nature's call when the accident occured.
In Mymensingh, Sohrab Hossain, 70, of Boilor, was killed when a microbus crushed him while he was crossing the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Boilor area of Trishal upazila.
