RU cancels admission of unqualified MPhil student
The Rajshahi University authorities have cancelled the admission of an MPhil candidate, also a former president of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at the university, as he is not qualified for enrolment at the programme.
Ibrahim Hossain Moon enrolled at the MPhil programme at the Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS) in the 2012-13 session. He is currently an assistant secretary of a sub-committee of Awami League's central body.
According to rules, a student must have CGPA 3.25 minimum either at the graduate or the postgraduate programme to be an MPhil candidate but he had lower CGPAs at both levels, said IBS director Prof Dr Sorochish Sarker.
The academic council decided to cancel his admission on Monday night, said Registrar Prof Entajul Haque.
