RU students block highway

Students of Rajshahi University yesterday blocked the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in front of the university's main entrance for half an hour protesting the death of a fellow in Sirajganj two days ago.

More than 300 students also formed a human chain there demanding road safety throughout the country.

Mehedi Hasan Emon, a second year biochemistry and molecular biology student, was killed in a three-vehicle pile-up in Sirajganj on Wednesday while he was going to Dhaka from Rajshahi in a bus.
