RU students, faculty slam death threat to Hasan Azizul Haque

Rajshahi University Teachers Association and Rajshahi University unit Chhatra Federation yesterday strongly condemned and protested the death threat to the country's noted writer and former philosophy professor of Rajshahi University Hasan Azizul Haque from an unknown caller on Sunday afternoon.

They urged the law enforcers to ensure safety of their venerable former teacher and bring the culprits, who had been threatening the free thinkers countrywide, to book.

However, Prof Hasan filed a general diary yesterday noon with Motihar thana police station seeking life security, confirmed Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Motihar police station.

"We have started investigation to identify the culprits", he added.

Haque now resides with his two daughters in the university housing society (Bihas), a small housing plot owned by university teachers near Rajshahi University.
