2 schoolboys electrocuted in Bogra

Two schoolboys died from electrocution at Shankarpur village in Shibganj upazila of the district on Sunday.

The deceased, Rimon Mia, 11, son of Rafiqul Islam of the village, and his cousin Abdul Momin, 11, son of Modasser Hossian of Chawk Kutub village in the upazila, were Class IV students at local MH Pre-Cadet School.

Quoting victims' family members, police said the two came in contact with a snapped electric wire when they climbed the roof of an adjacent house to collect a cricket ball around 6:30pm.

Locals took the duo to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (SZMCH), where the doctors declared them dead, Kamruzzaman, inspector (investigation) of Shibganj Police Station, said.
