6 NSTU students suspended

The authorities of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) have suspended six students over vandalism at a dormitory yesterday.

The decision was made at an emergency meeting with NSTU Vice Chancellor Prof M Wahiduzzaman in the chair around 12:00am, reports our Noakhali correspondent quoting the VC.

The suspended students are: Abdul Hamid Bappi (Pharmacy department, 4th batch), Nasir Ahmed Rana (English department, 8th batch), Saiful Haque Rupu (Food and Nutrition department, 8th batch), Sazzad Shihab (English department, 8th batch), Jahidur Rahman Nayeem (Information and Communication Engineering department, 10th batch), and Nasir Hossain (Economics department, 10th batch). 

Two factions of NSTU unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League locked into a clash on Saturday following a feud over the distribution of special meals at Abdus Salam Hall on the occasion of Victory Day on December 16.

At least 20 activists of the AL-backed student body were injured in the incident. The BCL men also vandalised the furniture during the clash at the hall.
