Abducted schoolboy murdered

An abducted schoolboy was found murdered at Modhupur village in Sadar upazila of the district yesterday.

The deceased is ninth grader Shakil Akhter, 14, son of Belal Hossain of the village.

He was abducted from a playground at the village on Friday night.

Later, the kidnappers demanded Tk 5 lakh ransom from the family over mobile phone.

Nure Alam, officer-in-charge of Ataikua Police Station, said the abductors strangled the boy.
