Attack on Gaus in jail, inmate sued

A jail inmate has been sued on charge of attempting to kill suspended Habiganj municipality Mayor Golam Kibria Gaus, an accused in former finance minister Shah AMS Kibria murder case.

Gaus's younger brother GK Gaffar filed the case with the court of Habiganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Kowshik Ahmed Khandakar against Salek Ahmed Ilias, convicted in a murder case, yesterday.

According to the case statement, Gaus, general secretary of Habiganj district unit of BNP, came under an attack inside the district jail on Eid day.
