BSF guns down Bangladeshi at Thakurgaon border

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) gunned down a Bangladeshi at Thakurgaon border in Haripur upazila early today.

The victim was primarily identified as Hemonta, our local correspondent reports quoting Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) official.

BSF opened gunfire on a group of cattle traders on Boshalgaon border around 4:00am, said Col Md Khalekuzzaman, BGB sector commander of Dinajpur.

Hemonta died on the spot while others escaped unhurt. The body was taken away by BSF.

BGB sent a protest note condemning the killing this morning, Col Khalekuzzaman told The Daily Star. A flag meeting was on when this report was filed around noon.
