Buddhist monk held with Yaba

Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested a Buddhist monk along with 2,785 Yaba tablets from a residential hotel in the district town on Wednesday. The arrestee is Owara Marma, a resident of Keyajupara village in Lama upazila. Acting on a tip-off, a team of the detectives raided a room at Hillbird Hotel in the town around 1:30pm and arrested Owara along with the Yaba tablets worth around Tk 2.75 lakh, Mohammad Rafiqullah, officer-in-charge of district DB police, said. Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, Owara's associate Shoilha Marma managed to flee the scene.
