Gold smuggler remanded

A court here on Sunday placed an alleged gold smuggler on a two-day remand.

Jessore Judicial Magistrate Pranab Kumar passed the order when police produced accused Nur Islam in the court, seeking seven days' remand, said court sources.

On April 7, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested Nur Islam with 21 gold bars worth around Tk 1.25 crore in no-man's land area of Benapole.
