Hizb-ut Tahrir leader held
Police arrested a leader of banned militant outfit Hizb-ut Tahrir at his house in Jessore town yesterday.
The arrestee is Tanjeer Ahmed alias Ashraful, 24, district's regional organiser of Hizb-ut Tahrir, and son of Abdul Aziz of Puraton Kasba in the town.
Superintendent of Police Anisur Rahman said they observed Ashraful's online activities for the last six months and then decided to arrest him as he was circulating "ideologies" of the banned outfit.
The law enforcers also seized a laptop, smart phones, leaflets, video footage and magazines of Hizb-ut Tahrir from his possession.
A case was filed in this connection, said the SP.
