Housewife commits suicide

A housewife allegedly committed suicide at Naghosha village in Shalikha upazila of Magura on Wednesday night. The deceased is Shanta Khatun, 19, wife of Maruf Hossain, a police constable from Belnagar village in Magura Sadar upazila. Victim's uncle Laisur Rahman filed a case with Shalikha Police Station yesterday, accusing three people, including Maruf. Quoting victim's family members, police said Shanta allegedly hanged herself from the ceiling of her parent's house after her parents failed met Maruf's demand for a motorcycle as dowry.
