Human chain demands arrest of bus driver, owner

District Easy-Bike Owner-Driver Kalyan Foundation yesterday formed a human chain at Mission Intersection in the town, demanding arrest of the driver and owner of the bus that killed five members of a family on Tuesday.

They also urged the government to take necessary steps to compensate the victim's family members.

The speakers at the rally said a Kurigram-bound passenger bus from Rangpur hit an easy-bike in Selimnagar area, leaving its driver Faruk Hossain and four members of his family dead on the spot on Tuesday.

After the accident, police seized the bus but its driver and helper managed to flee the scene.

"The driver and owner of the bus should to be brought into book for running the unregistered bus without valid route-permit' Moniruzzazaman, founder of the organization said.

The participants at the programme also threatened to go for a tougher movement if the driver and owner of the bus are not arrested within seven days time.
