Indefinite transport strike

Transport owners and workers went on an indefinite strike in the district yesterday demanding a ban on plying of three-wheelers on the highways. Apel Mahmud, general secretary of Panchagarh Transport Owners' Association, said the strike was called as the local administration failed to stop movement of three-wheelers like Nasimon, Karimon and battery-driven easy-bike on the busy roads and highways. District Motor Owners' Union and three transport workers' associations jointly announced the programme.
