‘Rise High Bangladesh’ at East West University
With the promise of promoting fresh and innovative concepts, the popular export idea contest, 'Rise High Bangladesh' launched its campus activation at East West University on September 21.
The campus activation part of this contest was concluded with the activation in East West University.
When an event that seeks to promote creativity and innovation of the youth is organised in a unique manner, it is bound to stir curiosity amongst students. Which is what happened at the campus premises of East West University where the day-long event was held. The activation spot was decorated with posters, banners, and placard which contained details on the contest. Many students approached the booths set up in the campus premises before and after their classes. The Rise High volunteers were always available, eagerly explaining the objectives, incentives and rules of participation to the students.
After winning the puzzle solving contest, Sabrina Islam, a student of Pharmacy Department, excitedly said, "I got a clue card containing export information about a country of Europe. I successfully recognised it and won a prize. Naturally, I am happy!"
The puzzle solving contest attracted a large number of students like Sabrina. In this contest, participants were required to pick a clue card containing export information of an unnamed country; all they had to do was recognize the country.
After guessing the right answer on the first try, Tanvir Khalid, a student of Business Administration, said, "I appreciated the puzzle solving contest. It was inspiring and educative."
After winning the puzzle solving contest, RiazulKabir from the Law department said, "I have already made up my mind to join the 'Rise High Bangladesh' export idea contest. Bangladesh has a rich heritage of many products. If we think of an innovative and well-managed export plan, our products will find a good place in the global market."
The East West University authority responded very positively when asked about the initiative. Vice-Chancellor of East West University, Professor M. M. Shahidul Hassan, welcomed the export idea contest. He said, "I think these events should be organised regularly to motivate the young generations. I appreciate The Daily Star's efforts to promote the creative faculty of the youth."
With the completion of a successful activation at East West University, the 'Rise High Bangladesh' export idea contest concluded its campus activation part. However, students from any university may send their export ideas to 'Rise High Bangladesh'.
