Schoolgirl commits suicide

A schoolgirl committed suicide at Pashchim Kanainagar village in Sadar upazila of the district on Tuesday evening. The deceased, Sadia Akter, 10, daughter of Saiful Islam of Masterpara area of the village, was a Class IV student of Nazrulla Government Primary School in the town. Mobasher Ali, officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station, said Sadia had been living with her maternal grandmother Nurjahan Begum as her parents work in the capital. Nurjahan often used to rebuke her over trifling matters and following a feud over the issue Sadia hanged herself from the ceiling of her room around 6:00pm. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Bhola Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
