Six murder case accused arrested

Police arrested six accused in Kacha Miah murder case, raiding different areas of Kalmakanda upazila on Tuesday night.

The arrestees are Shahid Miah, Abdun Nur alias Sento, Ajab Ali, Abdul Malek, Babul Miah and Kabir Miah.

Kalmakanda police produced them in the Judicial Magistrate's Court here yesterday. The court rejected their bail prayer and sent them to jail.

 Kacha Miah, 62, of Futika village, was killed and 10 others were injured during a clash between two rival groups of villagers at the village in the upazila over eating grass by a cow in a paddy field on Sunday noon.

The injured --Muklesh 32, Russel 22, Shahidul Islam 36, Dulal 35, Ripon 23, Rabbani 30, Titon, 28, and Rubel 32 -- were admitted to Kalmakanda Upazila Health Complex while the rest given first aid. 

Manik Miah, son of deceased Kacha Miah, filed a case with Kalmakanda Police Station, accusing 27 people the same day. The arrested six are among the accused.
