Tragic!

A schoolgirl died as her scarf got entangled in the wheel of a battery-run auto-rickshaw on Pirganj-Ranishankoil road in Pirganj upazila town of the district yesterday.

The deceased is Nipun Chandra Roy, 11, a student of Narayanpur Government Primary School, and daughter of Arun Chandra Roy of Narayanpur village.

Locals said Nipun was returning home from the town by the three-wheeler after attending private tuition at around 9:30pm.

When the vehicle reached Futani area, somehow her scarf got stuck in a wheel and she fell to the road.

She was rushed to the upazila health complex where the doctors declared her dead.
