Truckers protest illegal toll collection

District Truck and Tank Lorry Workers' Union yesterday submitted a written complaint to the Superintendent of Police (SP) protesting illegal toll collection by a gang in the name of workers' welfare fund.

They also demanded an end to harassment of the transport workers by the gang in Neamatpur area under Saidpur upazila of the district.

Contacted, Golam Rahman Dalu, president of District Truck and Tank Lorry Workers Union, alleged that some transport workers backed by Chad Mia have been collecting toll from the truck and tank lorry drivers, workers and helpers.b
