Two college boys commit 'suicide'

Two college students allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents in Sadar upazila of Jessore district on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Sayem Khan alias Hasibul, 25, son of Mamunur Rashid of Upashahar area, and Parvez Hossain, 18, son of Quader Mia of Kazipur village in the upazila.

Police said Sayem, a fourth-year student of diploma engineering at BCMC College in the town, hanged himself from the ceiling of his room on Tuesday night as he was offended by his girlfriend Eti, a resident of Khulna.

Family members rushed him to Jessore Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Meanwhile, Parvez, an HSC second-year student at Rupdia Muktijoddha Shaheed Smriti Degree College, took pesticide as his father refused to buy him a motorbike.
