Dhanmondi

Budget: Tk 300
For: Two people
Dhanmondi is my homeland, my hood; meaning if I'm stuck somewhere in Dhanmondi with someone and about 300 hundred bucks, I will find somewhere to eat, sufficiently. Probably.
But in this case, I really would. Near Sobhanbag Masjid, in one of the corners close to Mastermind Junior section there are two dingy little food places that provide some of the best food of its kind in the city (i.e. Tehari, khichuri, etc). 'Haji Ujjal' and 'Tehari Ghar' remain side by side, offering Tehari and Khichuri costing about Tk 70 and Tk 80 a plate, respectively. Although prices of food according to the choices of meat or the whole dish itself may vary, it should never cost you and your companion over Tk 200. The accommodation is not the best, and gives the place an “eat and leave” vibe; though it is actually not too bad considering how good and cheap the food is.
Opposite the food places is a small stall that provides various sorts of paan for Tk 20 apiece. And if you're not too fond of that, there are still shops nearby for an ice cream treat. The best part is, even after your previously empty stomach is stuffed; your wallet won't face the opposite fate as a consequence.
