Online programmes to pay tribute to Nazrul

Today is the 45th death anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Different organisations and institutions have arranged online programmes to pay tribute to him.

Kabi Nazrul Institute will organise an online discussion and cultural programme. The online programme will be streamed live on the institute's Facebook page at 10 am. 

State Minister for Cultural Affairs K M Khalid will attend the programme as chief guest while cultural affairs secretary Md Abul Mansur and Kazi Nazrul Islam's granddaughter Khilkhil Kazi will attend the programme as special guests. Kabi Nazrul Institute's trustee board member Sayeda Motahara Banu and cultural affairs additional secretary Manirul Alam will be present as discussants. The virtual programme will be presided over by Kabi Nazrul Institute's executive director Mohammad Zakir Hossain.

Singers Badrunnesa Dalia and Shahid Kabir Polash will entertain the audience rendering Nazrul's songs while recitation artiste Bhaskar Bandyopadhyay will recite Nazrul's poems.

Besides, a documentary on Kazi Nazrul Islam's life and work will be streamed on Kabi Nazrul Isntitute's Facebook page.

Dhaka University will organise an online programme at 10:30 am at its Abdul Matin Virtual Class Room. The programme will be presided over by vice-chancellor of Dhaka University Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman. National professor Dr Rafiqul Islam will attend the programme as discussant.

Bangla Academy will stream an online programme on its Facebook page at 4 pm.

State minister for cultural affairs KM Khalid will attend the programme as chief guest while Syed Azizul Huq will read an essay.

Chhayanaut will stream an online programme comprising recorded videos on its Facebook page and YouTube channel at 9 pm.
