Brendon Fraser, who won the Oscar for Best Actor for his portrayal as the lonely and obese man in Darren Aronofsky's "The Whale," has no work at the moment.

According to People Magazine, he also stated that he is taking his time choosing his next script. His success came after overcoming a number of personal challenges, including a divorce, the death of his mother, health issues, and an alleged assault by the then-president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

When asked about whether he has any future roles, the actor replied he doesn't have any.

"Right now, I don't have anything – I am being extremely picky. However, I will appear in Martin Scorsese's upcoming murder drama 'Killers of the Flower Moon,' which will make its global premiere this month at the 76th Cannes Film Festival," said the actor.

"I'll tell you what, I'm excited to see it myself. We were filming in really hot heat in Oklahoma, and I can't oversell my role in this enormous film. There are so many actors in this movie when you see it, he continued. I'll show up in the end for a scene or two," said the actor.

Fraser rose to prominence in the early 1990s with the comedies "Encino Man" and "School Ties," before becoming a household figure with "George of the Jungle" and "The Mummy" trilogy.
