Cameras roll for ‘How I Met Your Father’
Production for "How I Met Your Father" has officially commenced. Hilary Duff shared a new set image from the upcoming show, across social media recently. She is set to star as Sophie, a woman determined to find love in the age of dating apps, in the "How I Met Your Mother" spin-off series.
Sophie will tell her son the story of how she met his father. Sharing her excitement for the new show, Duff has been revealing behind-the-scenes news to social media, such as how the cast participated in their first table read last month. She recently recovered from Covid-19, and is now back to work.
The highly anticipated spin-off series will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor by sharing a similar plot device, but updated for the current times, which is sure to please most fans. "How I Met Your Mother" ran for nine seasons from 2005 to 2014, racking up a loyal fan base along the way.
While "How I Met Your Father" just began filming, fans are already eager for its release. Hulu ordered the show back in April of this year, which is based on a script by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.
Duff was quickly attached to star as the lead character, and Aptaker and Berger came onboard as the project's creators, writers, and executive producers.
The rest of the cast is still expanding with Josh Peck recently joining the team, along with Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Suraj Sharma, and Tom Ainsley. As of now, no release date for the series has been announced.
