Crew for biopic on Bangabandhu to arrive in Dhaka tomorrow

The biopic of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, is being directed by eminent Indian filmmaker Shyam Benegal. The shooting for the first lot of "Bangabandhu", which began in January at Dada Saheb Phalke studio, Mumbai, wrapped up in April.

The Bangladesh-India joint production is now ready to shoot their final part in Bangladesh. The team will be arriving Dhaka tomorrow from Mumbai.

The news has been confirmed by the Bangladeshi line producer Mohammad Hossain Jemi.

"We are all prepared to finish the job," he shares. "Within few days, we will be able to inform more details."

The film was expected to be released in March this year. However, due to Covid-19 the production got hampered, thus it is now slated to release in March 2022.

Popular actor Arifin Shuvoo will be portraying the role of Bangabandhu in this film, along with Nusrat Imrose Tisha as Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa, and Nusraat Faria as Sheikh Hasina, among many other noted actors.

The associate director of "Bangabandhu" is Dayal Nihalani, while the script of the film has been written by Indian screenplay writer Shama Zaidi.
