Elina Shammi to portray Khaleda Zia in Bangabandhu biopic

The biopic of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, will showcase popular actress, Elina Shammi to portray the role of Khaleda Zia.

The actress confirmed the news to The Daily Star.

"I signed a contract yesterday to be part of the Bangabandhu biopic film. I will be playing the role of Khaleda Zia. This will surely be one of the most monumental films and I am glad to be part of such prestigious history. I will start shooting for my scene from December 6," mentions the actress.

Popular actor Arifin Shuvoo will be portraying the role of Bangabandhu in this film, along with Nusrat Imrose Tisha as Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa, and Nusraat Faria as Sheikh Hasina, among many other noted actors.

The associate director of "Bangabandhu" is Dayal Nihalani, while the script of the film has been written by Indian screenplay writer Shama Zaidi.
