'Even if you don't celebrate it yourself, Baishakh will celebrate itself'
In the wake of the recent legal notice filed against Mangal Shobhajatra, many have come forward to voice their support for this festival and Pahela Baishakh in general. We have already heard from the likes of Ramendu Majumdar and Chanchal Chowdhury, now, the "Chirokumar" star, Marzuk Russell also came forward to share his thoughts about Baishakh.
In a statement the actor had said, "Even if you don't celebrate it yourself, Baishakh will celebrate itself. Baishakh will give us wind, storms, heat waves, watermelons, bangi, etc. You will look for the meaning of your Arabic, Persian, Urdu, English, etc. names in Bangla. You will even write it in Bangla in various places. Even in your passports, you will always write Bangladeshi by birth."
On a day that is meant to unite all Bangalees, statements like these seem to have resonated well with the masses, as many fans on social media have forth to remark how Marzuk Russell's statement made them feel more united.
