Film organisations formed a human chain to protest against communal attacks across different districts of the country.

The human chain was held in front of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) on Sunday morning.

Shaheen Sumon, General Secretary of President of Bangladesh Film Directors Association (BFDA) told The Daily Star all about the protest today.

"We have fought hard to liberate our country from the brutalities of Pakistani armies. This was all possible with the participation of people from all religions. We don't want violence in our country in the name of religion. Everyone has the right to follow their respective religion peacefully and so we have created this human chain to fight against such communal attacks," mentions Shaheen.

Zayed Khan, General Secretary of Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Samity said, "Bangladesh is a country of peaceful coexistence of people of all religions. We are strongly against the reign of fundamentalism. I strongly condemn people who try to distort communal harmony by attacking temples and puja mandap's".
