I am going to seek his warmth for the rest of my life
On Tuesday, renowned actor Chanchal Chowdhury lost his father, Radha Govinda Chowdhury. His last rites were performed at Chanchal's family hometown in Pabna's Kamarhat. Today, the star posted a heart-felt post on Facebook, remembering his late father.
"On December 27, my dear father left us all behind, to the world that lies beyond the living. His last rites were performed at his own birthplace, where his last essence evaporated into the air of Kamarhat and into the greatness of the Padma river," the post read.
"In the evening, after we had performed the religious rituals and I had returned home, I couldn't believe that I had submerged my father's ashes into the river. All night, I was not able to close my eyes. I kept imagining that I was hearing his footsteps across the house, that he was calling out to me, asking, 'Chanchal baba… are you sleeping?'. I could not accept the reality that I won't get to hear his voice ever again, that I won't ever see him again. This feeling is completely unbearable," added Chanchal.
The "Hawa" actor also noted that he was wearing his father's shawl while penning his feelings into words. He wanted to feel the warmth of his father by wrapping himself in one of the few things that carries his father's memory.
"As I write these words on this bitterly cold winter morning, I have tidily wrapped my body with my father's shawl. I am sitting in the very place my father would bask in the warmth of the sun, but I am not seeking its warmth. Instead, what I truly want to find is the gentle warmth of my father. I am going to seek his warmth for the rest of my life," concluded the post.
The actor also thanked each and everyone who attended his father's funeral at Kamarhat and also expressed their condolences during this difficult time.
