I will not participate in Cholochitro Shilpi Samity elections: Shakib Khan

Superstar Shakib Khan is rumoured to be the candidate for the post of president in the 2022-23 term of Bangladesh Cholochitro Shilpi Shamity (Bangladesh Film Artistes Association).

"I will not participate in the Cholochitro Shilpi Samity elections at all this time," shares the popular actor. "I am not thinking about them. I believe it is our work that takes us further in the film industry, not politics."

He also shared his views regarding the rumours. "The rumours are completely baseless and insignificant. No one spoke to me to clarify or confirm if I was actually interested in elections. I find that very disappointing," he adds.

He looks to focus on his work at the moment. "Some colleagues told me to contest the election," says the actor. "Our Nayak Raj Razzak did not participate in elections, nor does Bollywood superstar Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. They are known to focus only on acting, and I plan to do the same."

Shakib Khan has been elected as the president of Cholochitro Shilpi Samity twice before.
