Medical board formed for actor Mahmud Sajjad

Noted actor Mahmud Sajjad has been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for 38 consecutive days, due to post Covid-19 complications. Now, he has been given a feeding tube, and his condition has deteriorated, confirmed his brother, M Hamid. 

"Few days ago, a medical board was formed for Sajjad. He has been prescribed some new antibiotics. Yesterday, the medical board had a meeting about him again. They are trying their best. I request everyone to pray for my brother," adds M Hamid. 

Mahmud Sajjad made his acting debut with renowned director Zahir Raihan's film, "Sangsar". His other notable films include Khan Ataur Rahman's "Jhorer Pakhi",  "Apon Por", and Aziz Azhar's "Chokher Joley", among many others. 

The 73-year-old actor has been associated with the theatre troupe, Natyachakra Natyadal, since he was a university student. He has been a part of popular plays like "Let There Be Light" and "Spartacus". 

Mahmud Sajjad's younger brother K M Khalid is the State Minister of Cultural Affairs, while his niece, Tanima Hamid, is a popular television actress.
