Twilight getting its own TV series

"Twilight", the vampire-romance series--spanning five blockbuster movies--captured the hearts of brooding teenagers worldwide. Now the franchise might be getting a television series.

Lionsgate Entertainment is currently developing the series, based on the young-adult books by Stephenie Meyer, according to a source close to the project. However, plans are still in the early stages and have not been finalised.

The news was first published by the Hollywood Reporter. News of a potential "Twilight" TV series follows the plans of Warner Bros Discovery to create a TV for the "Harry Potter" series.

The five "Twilight" films– the first of which was released in 2008 – grossed USD 3.3 billion worldwide, making Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart stars in the process.
