MY PERSONAL WHITE CHRISTMAS

MY PERSONAL WHITE CHRISTMAS

I grew up almost never stepping outside of the house and watching Cartoon Network without parental guidance. Plus I used to be sick most of the time so my 6-year-old brain only absorbed what the [cartoon] kids were doing on TV. I spent a large portion of my life believing that if only I was a white kid, I'd get to celebrate Christmas and wake up to a tree with presents underneath it. One thing I am sure of, is that “White Christmas” had nothing to do with my belief and nor did all the TV segments of [mostly] white people donating gifts to black, starving children in Africa. My “White Christmas” was just an innocent conjecture of my 6-year-old mind. Seriously, guys, if you ever have kids, this is exactly why you should check what your kid is watching. It took me a few more years to find out what Christmas REALLY is because I started school late in 1st grade due to health problems.
