Mystic River

Mystic River

Bangladesh is the land of rivers. It's hard to find a village without its own poetically named river -- Dudhkumar, Dakatia, Kaliganga. The hundreds of rivers that crisscross this vast delta are its lifeline, feeding its people, carrying goods and supporting complex ecosystems. In summer, the watery landscape shimmers under the unforgiving sun; in monsoon, the rivers poise menacingly, threatening to devour all in their way; and in winter, thick mists shroud the waters and create a realm of mystery. A walk by a river is always calming, and a gentle boat-ride can work miracles when the hustle and bustle of city life gets one down.
