Suhrawardy Hospital nurses call strike

Nurses of Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital yesterday called an indefinite strike in protest against an attempt to sexually harass one of their colleagues inside a lift at the hospital, reports Channel i. Lift man Shah Alam tried to harass a nurse of the hospital sexually at around 2:00pm when she was going to join her duty on the second floor of the hospital using the lift, police sources said. As soon as the lift reaches the floor, the nurse started screaming while the liftman tried to flee. Visitors and hospital staffs caught the liftman and handed him over to the police, sources said. The nurse filed a case with Sher-E-Bangla Nagar Police Station in the evening to this end. Officer-in-Charge of the police station Reazuddin confirmed the incident and said that during preliminary interrogation the liftman confessed to his guilt.
