ETV Chairman Salam gets bail in Mumbai

A Mumbai court yesterday granted bail to Ekushey Television Chairman Abdus Salam Mohd Karim, who was arrested for allegedly possessing a pistol magazine and seven live cartridges at Mumbai International Airport. He was arrested at the airport when the security men was conducting a routine check and found one .22 pistol magazine and seven live cartridges in his possession on April 22, police said. He was later arrested by Sahar Airport Police and was restrained from flying back to Bangladesh, police said. He was granted bail on a cash surety of Rs 15000 after a bail application was moved before a local court by the accused yesterday, police said.
