City school celebrates new year

Shining Stars International School, an English medium school at Uttara in the city, yesterday organised a colourful function as part of their programmes to celebrate Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla New Year. The students and teachers rendered patriotic songs and recited poetry. They also staged a fashion show wearing traditional dresses while a pitha (cake) exhibition was also held. School Principal Abdul Alim, Director (administration) Saiful Islam Azad and Director (academic) Hemayet Akbar Tipu also spoke.
