Woman killed as train hits jeep in Sylhet

A woman was killed and four members of an expatriate family were injured yesterday as a speeding inter-city train Parabat Express hit their jeep near Khalermukh level crossing about eight kilometres off the Sylhet railway station. The deceased was identified as Syeda Rahimunnesa, 55. Seriously injured Kazi Abdul Matin Muktadir, his wife Farhana Muktadir and sister-in-law Ayesha Begum were sent to Dhaka in the evening. Muktadir's daughter Samia was given first aid. The dead was an aunty of Farhana Muktadir. Muktadir was returning home at Silam Gazirpara, a suburb of Sylhet city, driving his jeep from a hospital.
