Rokan Uddin, director of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, passed away on Saturday due to chronic liver disease at a hospital of Madina in Saudi Arabia at the age of 55, says a press release. He left behind his wife and a daughter. Rokan was laid to Jannatul Baqi after namaz-e-janeza at Masjid-e-Nabawi. He went to Saudi Arabia on July 24 to perform the Holy Umrah. Rokan, a close associate of late eminent nuclear scientist Dr MA Wazed Mia, worked as a pioneer of modernising bioscience department of the commission and establishing Gamma camera.
