There should be loadshedding in the residential areas for ministers, parliament members and VIP's as it is a citizen's crisis, said Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Obaidul Quader yesterday. “Everybody in the country lives with the crises of electricity, gas and water. It hurts me when I see there is no such crisis in the residential areas for ministers and MPs,” he said while speaking at a discussion at the Dhaka Reporters' Unity. The AL leader made the remark while the people are passing days under an acute load shedding and people took to the street in several areas against the crisis recently. Quader, also a lawmaker of ruling party said, “As the ministers and members of parliament represent the people of the country, they should not stay away from the sufferings of people.” He called on the officials of electricity department not to load shed during the hours of Ifter, Sehri and Tarabi during the month of Ramadan. He urged the main opposition party not to do politics with those crises. Bangabandhu Chhatra Parishad arranged the discussion marking the national mourning day on August 15.
