Bogra Jubo Dal man stabbed to death
Political rivalry left a local Jubo Dal activist dead as the opponent group stabbed him indiscriminately at Khandar area of Bogra town yesterday.
The deceased Shaheen Ali, 28, was a Jubo Dal member of Bogra town ward No nine.
Police said Bogra municipality ward commissioner Hamidul Hoque Hiru's younger brother Likhon stabbed Shaheen with a sharp knife at Azad Pump lane in the area at around 7:00pm, leaving him critically injured.
Locals rushed him to Shahid Zia Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Witnesses said following iftar, Shaheen's younger brother Dulal and Likhon locked into quarrel over political rivalry and Shaheen tried to pacify them that resulted in his death.
Following the incident, Shaheen's men attacked the house of Hiru.
Assistant superintendent of Bogra Sadar Circle Arifur Rahman Mondal said police have been deployed at the residence of Hiru to avert further attack.
