Criminal cuts tendons of another
A miscreant cut tendons of another criminal at Ferryghat under Sonadanga Police Station of Khulna on Thursday night.
The victim was identified as Munna Sheikh, 30, son of Nasir Sheikh from Shirishnagar area.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station said Azim cut tendons of Munna's right leg during Tarabi prayers in Jinnah mosque and fled the scene.
Both are listed criminals, said the OC adding that the incident might be over past enmity.
Police arrested Azim, 28, from Boyre area around 6:30pm yesterday.
Nasir Sheikh, father of the victim, filed a case with the police station in this connection yesterday.
In another incident, a Rab team arrested Senior Vice President of Dumuria unit Awami League Shahnewaz Hossain Joarder from upazila parishad on Thursday.
According to Rab, he is a wanted criminal in a case filed by Bakul Biswas with Dumuria Police Station on July 31 this year.
He was sent to jail at 12:30pm yesterday, said OC Ashraf Hossain of the police station.
