Says Yeafesh
State Minister for Science and ICT Yeafesh Osman yesterday said the founder and architect of independent Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's contribution to the history of the Bangalee nation is unparalleled.
Bangabandhu led the Bangalee nation to independence through indomitable courage, unparalleled patriotism, unbelievable farsightedness and dynamic leadership, ignoring the fears of death threats, he added.
Yeafesh Osman was addressing a dissuasion to observe the National Mourning Day at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) auditorium.
Buet Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr A M M Safiullah, and Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Habibur Rahman attended the function as the special guests.
Mentioning Bangabandhu as the greatest Bangalee of all time, he said, Bangabandhu first succeeded in convincing the Bangalee nation that an independent Bangladesh was necessary for protecting their language and culture. Bangabandhu lives in the hearts of his people, he observed.
"In the thousand-year history of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujib is the only leader who has, in terms of blood, race, language, culture and birth, been a full-blooded Bangalee," he said.
