Government and non-governmental organisations hoisted the national flag at half-mast at their offices on the occasion. The NHRC organised the discussion at its office. Noman Ur Rashid, director general of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, at another discussion, emphasised the need for trying war criminals to build a secular and democratic Bangladesh. The Jagannath University authority held a doa mahfil at its central mosque and kept the national flag at half-mast on the campus. Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agriculture University (BSMRAU) also organised several programmes including holding a rally and placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu. Speakers at a meeting organised by BRAC University authorities discussed the life and contribution of Bangabandhu. Special prayers were offered at Dhakeshwari National Temple marking the occasion.
