CPB protest Aug 20
Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) will stage demonstrations across the country on August 20 to press home its three-point demand, including release of its leader Mantu Ghosh, says a press release.
Mantu Gosh, president of Narayanganj district unit of CPB and adviser of Garment Sramik Trade Union Kendra, was arrested on charge of instigating violence among the garment workers.
Meanwhile, 11-party, a left leaning alliance, yesterday demanded an end to mass arrests, sacking garment workers and resolving problems in the garment sector through discussion.
In a statement, 11-party coordinator Mahmudur Rahman Babu expressed anxiety over the crisis prevailing in the garment sector.
He also demanded release of Mantu Ghosh and all other leaders.
