Road crashes kill 3
At least three people were killed in separate road accidents in Dinajpur, Bagerhat and Sylhet yesterday.
Our correspondent from Dinajpur reports: A motorcyclist was crushed to death by a Panchagarh-bound passenger bus on the Dinajpur-Panchagarh highway yesterday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Sujan Barman, 40, son of Shukur Barman of village Ramdubi in Dinajpur Sadar.
The accident occurred when a bus hit Sujan's bike from behind at the Raniganj-more.
A correspondent from Bagerhat adds: A man was killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Mawa Highway at Kahalpur area of Mollarhat upazila of the district early yesterday
The deceased was identified as Zakaria Sikdar, 35, son of Idris Ali Sikdar of Jhuteswari village of the same upazila.
The accident occurred when a Mollarhat-bound bus hit a passenger carrying three-wheeler, popularly known as Nasimon, from behind.
Police handed over the body to relatives.
Staff correspondent from Sylhet adds: An unidentified woman was killed by a speeding bus on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway near Kibria Square of Nabiganj upazila yesterday.
The accident took place at about 11:00am when a Sylhet-bound passenger bus from Habignj town knocked her down and crushed under its wheels.
The identity of the deceased aged about 45 could not be known immediately, said the in-charge of Highway police at Sherpur.
The body has been sent to the Habiganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
