Nation united on trial of war criminals: Matia
Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury yesterday said the nation is now united on the execution of the fugitive killers of Bangabandhu and the trial of war criminals.
"By executing the verdict of Bangabandhu murder case completely and the trial of war criminals, the way to establishing democracy and the rule of law in the country will have to be made thorn-free," she said this while addressing a discussion on the occasion of the 35th death anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) organised the discussion at its central office with BDRCS Chairman Dr MS Akbar MP in the chair.
State Minister for Law Advocate Qamrul Islam, Dhaka city AL General Secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, BDRCS Secretary General Capt (Retd) Abu Bakar and Deputy Secretary General Khondaker Zakaria Khaled also spoke at the discussion.
The discussion was followed by a milad and doa mahfil.
Matia said the government is making all out efforts to bring back the fugitive killers of Bangabandhu.
