Dhaka's help for Pak flood-hit people
The government has decided to send a medical team and relief materials worth US$ 2 million for one million flood victims of Pakistan.
According to an official announcement yesterday, Bangladesh's assistance to Pakistan would include tents, blankets, water purification tablets, mineral water, life saving medicines, vaccines, oral salines, hygiene kits, biscuits, packed dry foods etc.
Bangladesh announced this commitment as an expression of solidarity with the people of Pakistan, said a foreign ministry press release.
Earlier, in a condolence message addressed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her deep sympathy to the government and the people of Pakistan on this human tragedy.
